Anxiety in Children

In the first of a series of CPD courses on Paediatric Mental Health and Neurodevelopment, this course focuses on the growing problem of anxiety in the paediatric population. This course focuses on practical tools for GPs to use at Primary Care including:

Rosemary Keane PhD DPscyh Sc (Clin Psych)

Dr. Rosemary Keane is a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Beuamont Hospital. Rose has a number of years of experience working with a broad range of different clinical groups across the lifespan.

She completed clinical training (Doctorate in Psychological Science) at University College Dublin (UCD). As part of this her doctoral thesis focused on emotional over- and under-control in adults with psychiatric difficulties and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)/Radically Open DBT informed group interventions. Rose also has a PhD in Psychology (National University of Ireland, Galway) focusing on acceptance in chronic pain from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework.

Rose is passionate about working together with individuals and families to understand the biopsychosocial factors affecting behaviour and functioning and compassionately applying evidence based and personalised interventions. She has a special interest in applications of functional QEEG assessment and neurofeedback training. Rose is also a member of Mental Health Advisory Board of the charity A Lust For Life.

Yes, the course is accredited for 4 CPD points from the ICGP.
How long will the course take?
You can complete the course within a half day, but you don't have to complete it all in one go. You can pick up where you left off when you log back in.
What format is the material in? Can I listen on my phone?
You can listen to the material via our podcasts on your phone or computer, and/or you may chose to read the slides alongside this. There are two short papers (4 pages and 7 pages) which you must also read at the end. Assessment is carried out by an MCQ after each lecture, plus a series of True/False statements at the end of the course. As per ICGP guidelines, you must achieve a grade of at least 80% to successfully complete the course for CPD points.
How do I get my certificate of completion?
Once you complete the course, there will be a button to download your certificate. This must be done on a desktop computer or laptop. You can then send this to the ICGP for your CPD points.
